When we first saw the Gridfall as it arrived—a massive slice of an island falling floating towards us—the potential of what we could create from its mountains of scrap seemed limitless. We repaired the blocks of towering buildings to ensure they were all structurally sound then explored all the new possibilities that were open to us.
In no time at all we had new hydroponics research in progress, a museum of Old Earth history on the way, and a beautiful plaza at the centre of it all. Since moving in, the residents brought all of their energy with them, and now the Gridfall has been home to many Loftians for years.
Pressure creates diamonds, in the same way that beauty can be created from a pile of scrap.
